John T. Kemper, III is a true fiscal conservative, pro-life, supporting lower taxes, limited government, a strong military, secure borders and a reasonable energy policy and equal opportunity for all Kentuckians. I believe a total restructuring of our bloated State government is essential in meeting our responsibilities to the people of the great Commonwealth of Kentucky!
I am not a career politician, so why am I running for political office?
We live in the most unique, once-in-history-of-the-world country formed by God fearing, freedom loving, self-reliant individuals. We have strayed from the fundamentals set forth by our Founding Fathers. Our government, which was designed to enable us to be innovative, problem solvers and successful, has grown intrusive, stifling and debilitating. As government has grown, many Kentuckians have lost their defining characteristics of self-reliance, independence and creativity. This was the greatest fear of our forefathers; government reliance. Increasing government reliance comes with the loss of God-given liberties. Our federal government is destroying our economy, culture and our can-do spirit. We must reduce Kentucky's dependency upon Federal monies and the "cut" the strings which come with these Federal dollars. Our success and survival is not determined in Washington, D.C. but in the hearts of our families, communities, and in our jobs. Together we are unleashing the relentless spirit of our great Commonwealth. I am a conservative Republican because I continue to believe that the Republican Party is still the Party which opposes slavery just as it did in 1854 at its founding. The form of slavery has changed since the founding of the party; today the slavery we oppose is the economic slavery of our children and grandchildren as they are forced to repay the debt we are unnecessarily creating.
Why enter the Kentucky Auditor's race?
For the last 35 years Kentuckians have allowed the Democratic Party to chart the economic course of this great Commonwealth. The Democrats have overseen the unnecessary, out of control growth of State government, increased taxation with little return on our investment. Kentuckians have elected Democrats to the highest offices of Governor, with two exceptions in 75 years, Attorney General, Secretary of State and State Auditor offices have also been held by Democrats the majority of the time. After largely single party governorance, our great Commonwealth is now at a fiscal breaking point. We have allowed the "fox to watch the hen house" for the better part of 100 years and we wonder why we have no chickens or eggs!
It is NOW time to have a citizen GUARDIAN of OUR tax dollars digging into the largely unchecked wasteful and inefficient use of Kentucky tax dollars. I believe a total restructuring of our bloated State government is essential in meeting our responsibilities to the people of the Commonwealth of Kentucky! I will be a relentless voice for fiscal responsibility in Frankfort. I am asking for your help in this endeavor of love for our great Commonwealth in charting an independent and sustainable course for Kentucky.
Kentucky, been there, done that, time to move on!
