Energy independence is a national security issue but best pursued by private entities not through wasteful government subsidies. We must access all our domestic energy sources while exploring future energy source. Several of John’s family members work in the coal industry. He is well aware of the effects President Obama and the Environmental Protection Agency policies have had on the coal industry. Coal is the economic engine of Kentucky. Low cost of energy is the primary reason Kentucky has a wide base of high paying manufacturing jobs. These Kentucky manufacturing jobs would like be lost if Cap and Trade legislation is allowed to be implemented.
